Our Values

We believe it is our responsibility to provide a voice for heritage and its importance for present and future generations.

We Are a Voice for Heritage

NOHC staff are deeply passionate about heritage and bridging the past and present. We believe it is our responsibility to provide a voice for heritage and its importance for present and future generations.

Our Work is Evidence Based

The scientific method underpins everything that our staff do. Our highly qualified team has the experience, skills and expertise to provide the very best advice, based on the evidence.

We are a People Centred Business

NOHC staff put people and communities at the centre of all projects. We are small enough to provide our clients personalised service, and large enough to take on any project. We are specialists in community consultation with decades of experience working with local communities.

We Value Independence and Authority

NOHC is proudly independent, and as one of Australia’s longest continuously operating specialist heritage consultancies, we have the authority and experience to get the job done.

Sustainability Statement

As a purpose-driven company, sustainability is integral to the way NOHC works. This includes good governance; the highest ethical standards when working with all people and communities; professional, independent and evidence-based advice; and being a voice for heritage to ensure places, knowledge and values are protected for future generations.

We believe in building a sustainable future through the inter-generational transmission of heritage places, knowledge and values. Sustainability also means a commitment to minimising our impact on the environment by working in an ecologically safe way that respects country. It means supporting our clients to contribute positive and effective solutions to environmental and social challenges.

Our History
Navin Officer Heritage Consultants grew out of Kerry Navin’s sole practice established soon after her graduation in 1987. When Kerry joined forces with Kelvin Officer the business became a partnership in 1991, before its formal registration as a proprietary limited company in 2000.

We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as Australia’s first peoples and as the Traditional Owners and custodians of the land and water across the Australian landscape and seascape.
