Faezeh commenced her career as a Near Eastern archaeologist specialising in the Bronze Age archaeology of south-western Asia, with advanced expertise in small-artefact studies including ceramics, figurines, ornaments and administrative objects, alongside museum- and archive-based research.
She has over 10 years of field experience across Iran and Armenia and has won competitive research grants, including Macquarie University–based iMQRES and PGRF awards, as well as AWAWS (Australian Women in Ancient World Studies). She brings this considerable experience in archaeological field techniques and analysis to her work at Navin Office Heritage Consultants. Since 2022, she has been building professional experience in Australian archaeology through work on both Aboriginal and historic heritage projects across NSW.
“As a Near Eastern archaeologist, my perception of people’s lives through history was shaped by a linear understanding of the past: from hunter-gatherers, to settled communities, to the first villages and cities, and then to great civilisations. Aboriginal archaeology, however, has revolutionised this perception. Here, in this vast and beautiful land, people walked gently on the earth and respected it, not by building monuments, but by living in close connection with Country. Here, I am committed to finding, recording, and helping protect the traces of this respectful and quiet way of living, one that was deeply attuned to the land and to Country.”
