Appin Inn is a heritage listed property on Wollondilly LEP 2011 under Schedule 5 as item no. I4 of local significance. The client proposed to the change of use for the Inn and requested a statement of heritage impact.
The site has a complex history from 1833 with multiple landowners over time. It was one of the first Inns to have a liquor licence on the Appin Road providing accommodation for travellers. Our research identified the presence of potential archaeological remains at the playground and the possibility of a cistern. The proposed upgrade of the Inn would maintain its heritage value.
