The Bombala WW1 Soldiers Memorial (‘Digger’ Memorial) was unveiled on 23 April 1922 and is the main commemorative element, of the Bombala Memorial. A smaller, later memorial feature found directly behind, it was erected in remembrance of WW2, later conflicts, and peacekeeping operations and was dedicated on Anzac Day (25 April) in 1999.
Our report was prepared to support the Bombala RSL Sub-Branch, who were planning conservation work to be done on the town’s War Memorials and in particular the 1922 Soldiers Memorial elements in this commemorative precinct on Forbes Street, Bombala.
