This project aimed to secure the ACT water supply from future drought impacts. It involved an initial option selection study, followed by the design and construction of an enlarged Cotter Dam (to 78 gigalitres) and a 12 km pipeline linking the Murrumbidgee River with the Googong Reservoir in NSW.
The work involved option selection analysis, archaeological survey and site recording, Aboriginal community consultation, archaeological test and salvage excavation using by-hand and mechanical methods, salvage collection, archival recording, monitoring of construction impacts, Aboriginal artefact repatriation, analysis and report production.
