The remediation work at Broughtons Pass Weir – Site 001 was part of a larger project by WaterNSW Greater Sydney Rockfall Project which aimed to manage rockfall risk across Greater Sydney Dams. Understanding that the sandstone country around the Nepean River contains many Aboriginal sites, an Aboriginal due diligence assessment was undertaken to investigate whether any Aboriginal objects were present in the remediation area. The height and instability of the rock cliff face posed a challenge, and high-resolution photography was one of the strategies used to address this.
